English: The former Waverley Railway Line at Whitrope Sections of track rails still attached to sleepers are stacked on the track bed of the former Waverley Line that was closed in 1969. The Waverley Route Heritage Association was formed to preserve some of the history of the route and aided by grants and public subscription, a band of volunteers are laying a section of track the two and a half miles from Whitrope Tunnel to Riccarton Junction. More information can be found at www.wrha.org.uk
