Summary

Description
English: The Old House Museum, Bakewell (2) Two descriptive plaques have been added to the roofless part of the building on the left.

The museum is a house which was acquired by Sir Richard Arkwright in 1777, and converted into five cottages for workers at his Lumford Mill. He later added this sixth cottage, which was in ruins when the Bakewell & District Historical Society took it over in 1954.
