English: The Clockhouse, Royal Harbour, Ramsgate The Ramsgate Maritime Museum is housed in the 19th century clockhouse which was once an outpost of the Royal Observatory and houses the Ramsgate Meridian, from which Ramsgate's own particular Mean Time - 5 mins 41 secs ahead of Greenwich - was calculated. The building was designed by John Shaw Senior and John Shaw Junior. |
