Summary
| Description |
English: Overbridge on abandoned Fayle's Tramway. The tramway was a railway for the clay industry, originally 3 ft 9 in gauge, later 600 mm gauge. Traffic ceased around 1970. The road from Corfe Castle to Arne passes over the bridge. This section of the tramway ran in parallel with the standard gauge Swanage branch line, whose bridge is a few paces to the right. Latterly this section was principally used to reach the exchange siding with the Swanage branch, not far behind the viewpoint. |
