Summary

Description
English: North Woolwich Old Station Museum. On Pier Road and facing the River Thames, just east of the Woolwich Ferry pier. It was built in 1854 by the Eastern Counties Railway. The building suffered bomb damage during WW2 but continued as a working station until 1979 when the new BR North Woolwich station opened, leaving the old station surplus to requirements. Eventually the Passmore Edwards Museum Trust acquired it and the London Docklands Development Corporation provided over £300k for restoration. The London Borough of Newham now runs the museum, which opened in 1984
