DescriptionCoal train joins the Amman Valley railway branch - geograph.org.uk - 1276263.jpg
English: Coal train joins the Amman Valley railway branch After many years of being mothballed, the Amman Valley branch line is currently seeing new life with up to three coal trains a week running up and down to service the open cast mine near Gwaun-Cae-Guerwen.
Here we see the train just leaving the Heart of Wales Line next to the Pantyffynnon signal box, which controls the entire length of the Heart of Wales line to Craven Arms and also allows a single train to access the Amman Valley Branch at any time.
