DescriptionChatterley Whitfield Mining Museum - geograph.org.uk - 686583.jpg
English: Chatterley Whitfield Mining Museum Well it was then. You can see the site is quite clean and tidy and looks maintained then. The 1883 engine house nearest the camera contained a geared steam winch that had come from Silverdale Colliery and had been re-erected. This may well still be in the house and I think it had probably been seen by very few people (until now). The site subsequently closed and it is on SAVE's threatened list.
