Summary

Description
English: Altab Ali Park, Whitechapel This open space, to the south of Whitechapel Road, was originally the site of the 'White Chapel', a 13th century structure with white walls. The chapel was badly damaged in the blitz and had to be demolished. The park is named after Altab Ali who was murdered in 1978, in a racially motivated attack, in Adler Street (from where this picture was taken).
