Summary

Description
English: A view through a window from Drumin Castle A view through a window from Drumin Castle. There was not a huge amount of information about the history of Drumin Castle at the site and the following is pure speculation. The "Hill" in the centre of the picture, to my eyes at least, looks to be man made and considering its location / proximity to the castle I think that this may be a siege platform. During the middle ages if a castle was besieged one tactic was to construct a platform from which missiles could be launched, especially if, as is the case here, the castle occupied the high ground. This "Hill" is on the flood plain where the Rivers Livet and Avon meet, which would have been liable to flooding, not the best location to besiege a castle from without some convenient high ground.
